‘Tis the season to be jolly, and nothing brings on the cheer like a steaming hot mug of delicious mulled wine!
Gather round the fire and get that ‘festive’ feeling with Tom, our Head of EU & ROW Sales, as he takes you through the steps to make your own!
This recipe will make approximately 6 large glasses of mulled wine, but feel free to adapt the recipe to suit the number of guests.
Ingredients:
1 bottle of inexpensive red wine
1 cup of orange juice
1 cup of apple juice
1/2 a cup of Amaretto
1 sliced orange
1 cored & sliced apple
2 tbsp of honey
3 cinnamon sticks
5 whole cloves
2 whole star anise
2 tbsp vanilla extract
The instructions are as follows:
Pour the red wine into a large pot
Add your apple and orange juice, along with the Amaretto and honey, then stir to combine
Core and slice your apples into small chunks, then add them to the pot
Slice your oranges into discs, then add them to the pot
Add your star anise, cinnamon and cloves to the pot
Measure and add your vanilla extract to the pot
Stir thoroughly and bring to a simmer
Allow the mulled wine to infuse for two hours over a low heat
Serve with apple and orange slices
